Stepping into the Vlog World

And so my Vlogging journey begins...
I've enjoyed exploring YouTube as a consumer of information, but feel it's now time for me to become a contributor as well. It's not that I have something new to share that no one has heard of before. What Isaac Newton once said rings true:

I have many "giants" who have shaped my mindset and helped me "see further".  Many of those giants are people I have come in direct contact with over the years, while others I have never officially met. Thanks to the power of social media and networks I feel as if we've been friends all along. Personal Learning Networks (PLNs) have been one of the most important influences on my professional career. I go to them for inspiration, counsel and support anytime, anywhere. I am thankful to all who are a part of it and look forward to watching it grow!

Personal favorite social networks:

Why Me?

So why should I create videos and start a Vlog when there are so many fabulous resources already available?
Katie Gimbar- a teacher who promotes flipped classrooms- provides insightful ideas to answer that question in her video:
"Why It Has to be Me".  She states that when it's "me", I am able to establish a level of trust and accountability with my viewers as well as offer a personalized and customized experience! Not only that, but it is empowering to create and publish a video that can be shared and viewed with educators all over the world!

Where To Start?

After receiving positive feedback from educators, I decided to start with a series of Vlogs based off of my most recent presentation on Invisible Tech. I believe we should start at the place we are most comfortable with and go from there.

Without further ado, here is my very first Vlog. Enjoy!
(Feel free to leave your comments and feedback below. I would love to know your thoughts...)
